My granddaughter Mae and I found a turtle as we were exploring around the lake a few years ago. We kept it for a while, feeding it lettuce and giving it water. We decided it would be happier if we let it go so we painted a heart on its shell to see if he stays close-by, but we never saw it again. Smart Turtle!

Turtles have a protective shell, a natural God-given shield. Turtles are sensitive to loud noises, vibrations, and bright lights, so when in danger they tuck their heads into their shells, The shells are attached to the spine and lower ribcage as a permanent suit of armor.
God’s shield of protection surrounds us and prevents attack from any angle. There are dozens of scriptures that call out God as our shield. The shield of faith and God’s armor provides turtle-like protection round about us. We need not fear, no matter which direction that evil comes from. God has us covered. This armor is a gift from God. Take it, try it on, and see if it fits!

Faith’s Victory
Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.
Wear your full armor; ready at any hour.
Our strife, not with flesh, but against the devils schemes.
Evil loves to prowl, and dark forces they esteem.
Put on God’s armor, faith’s armor, and stand your ground
So when the day comes your protection will be sound.
Stand firm and with strength, the belt of truth on your waist.
Also, your breastplate of God’s righteousness is placed.
Your feet are now fit to wear the gospel of peace,
And then take the shield for your faith will then increase.
Now, safe from arrows, extinguish the fire and flames
That evil will send. Trust God; His victory claims.
And take the helmet of salvation and the sword,
Sword of the Spirit, which is the word of the Lord.
Pray in the Spirit; each request is not too small.
Pray at anytime. God hears when you call.
So wear God’s armor. Be prepared with faith to fight.
Salvation leads you; victory with God in sight.
