God’s Paintbrush

Posted on April 3, 2020 by ruthbillingsley

Have you ever been to “Painting With a Twist” or an art studio where you meet with your friends and everyone paints a picture? My painting never turns out quite like I expect. I’m not a good artist, but I do have a lot of fun. I have acquired another keepsake to take home and hang on my wall of memories.

Did you know that God likes to paint? He loves to take His brush and His bright colors and paint perfect pictures of His children. He paints His own character over ours so we can become more like HIm. When we are His canvas, we can trust His hands and allow Him to create a masterpiece that is pleasing in His sight. Stand still and He will use His brush in His loving hands to paint something beautiful. YOU!

 Content to Be Me

I am a painting.
God holds the brush.
Working a masterpiece,
In Him will I trust.

Trust Him to mix
The colors just right,
So the picture will be
Beautiful and bright.

Full of compassion
For family and friends,
Honesty and strength,
Character that mends.

Mends broke hearts
That only love can fill;
Works to perform
In doing God's will.

Thank You for making me
Just as I am,
A picture that someday
Reflects the Lamb.
